Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Does this work with all Tablets?
SNAP is designed specifically for Android tablets—it does not work with iPads.
We maintain a list of approved Android tablets [link], but the key factor is the front camera’s field of vision (FOV). If you already have an Android device, feel free to try it out and let us know how it goes. While we haven’t tested every compatible model, many work great.
Our mission is to make 3D scanning accessible and affordable, but some devices may be limited by their camera specs.
How does SNAP compare to ProScanner
SNAP is our newest and most advanced scanner—built from nearly a decade of ProScanner innovation. It delivers scans with the same quality you’d expect from ProScanner, but in a system that’s more modern, flexible, and perfectly suited for today’s gyms and wellness businesses. The only main difference: with SNAP, you simply enter weight manually.
Many people might wonder if the smaller SNAP system is of less quality. It’s quite the opposite. Similar to the smartphone evolution, the newer SNAP system is twice as fast as ProScanner, with higher resolution. This is an upgrade.
This was about innovation. There was an opportunity to make a faster and better scanner for everyone—and that’s exactly what we did.
How long has Fit3D been in business?
12 years.
Why doesn’t SNAP use a turntable like other scanners?
Great question. Turntables were originally used because older computer vision systems required your body to stay perfectly still while the camera rotated around you. That’s the approach we took with our original ProScanner—and it’s still how systems like Styku and ShapeScale work today.
But technology has come a long way. Just like your phone’s camera has dramatically improved in the last five years, so has the AI behind 3D scanning. SNAP uses advanced computer vision models that can adjust in real time—even if you move slightly—eliminating the need for bulky, moving platforms.
Turntables might still look cool for marketing, but they’re no longer necessary. SNAP is faster, simpler, and more portable—without sacrificing quality.
We’ve embraced this innovation, and we’re passing it on to you.
Curious how it works? Try it yourself.
Can I Use Fit3D SNAP With My Existing BIA Machine?
Yes. While Fit3D SNAP scanners provide body composition data plus advanced visuals, posture analysis, circumference measurements, and an overall wellness score, we understand that some facilities prefer to continue using their existing BIA devices.
In these cases, many operators choose to:
- Use SNAP for 3D visuals, wellness score, circumference measurements, and posture tracking.
- Use their BIA machine for body composition readings, providing members with a printed report.
If you’d like, we can even disable the body fat percentage display in your Fit3D backend so your staff and members don’t receive duplicate or conflicting numbers. This helps keep workflows simple and ensures your team stays confident in the data they share.
